Grape & Grain Exchange

2013 / Jacksonville, FL

Architecture: Design Cooperative
Interior Design: Design Cooperative

Grape and Grain Exchange is the brainchild of Bob Smith and company.  The concept was simple: A gourmet package store in the front (the Exchange); a speakeasy era bar and lounge in the back (the Parlour).  The Exchange features offerings from American Craft Distilleries, as well as craft beer and wine.  The space is light and simple.  In between the Exchange and the Parlour is a secret passageway accessed through a moving bookcase. The Parlour is a dark and moody art-deco inspired space with decorative lighting and classic back-bar detailing.  Jazz and other live music acts frequent the stage at the parlour, including a recent visit from Wynton Marsalis  and regular sessions from Paten Locke.
